By October 15, 2013 Press Releases

TIGA, the trade association representing the games industry, welcomes Preliminal (Games) Limited as its latest member.

Incorporated in July 2012, Preliminal was formed to develop a new IP for smartphones based on an idea director Dean Gifford had in mid 2010.

It intends to focus on creating a yet-to-be-announced breakthrough location-based game. It will base other locational titles on the engine it is creating. It is also evaluating an Oculus Rift devkit and Leap Motion gestural device for future projects that are currently in the concept phase.

Dean Gifford, director of Preliminal, said:

“As a startup Preliminal Games wants to focus on making great games on new emerging platforms and also explore interesting experiments with this technology providing an opportunity for a new generation of multi-disciplined and multi-talented game developers. Preliminal Games is joining TIGA to promote its mindset and to engage with an industry that is undergoing a fundamental shift in the way gamers engage with and spend time on their technology. TIGA provides the perfect blend of industry knowledge, reach and professionalism in making this task both approachable and enjoyable.”

Dr Richard Wilson, CEO of TIGA, said:

“We are extremely pleased to see another new start-up making good progress in the industry. We know Preliminal is being praised for its attention to detail and we look forward to seeing its first game.”
