By May 21, 2012 Press Releases

TIGA, the tradeassociation representing the UK games industry, today announced the appointment
of new board members. Ella Romanos MD of Remode; Giselle Stewart, General
Manager of Ubisoft Reflections; Nick Brown, CEO of Boss Level; Oli Christie,
CEO of Neon Play; Adrian Hawkins, COO of Kuju Entertainment; and Mike Hawkyard
of 4T2 have been elected to help the organisation continue its work of supporting
developers and digital publishers.

Ella Romanos is MD of
Remode as well as a founder of Extended Play, the umbrella organisation which
supports the South
West games industry, through a yearly conference, monthly meet-ups, game jams
and more. Ella Romanos said:

“TIGA does a fantastic job in campaigning for the
industry and in helping small companies develop and grow. As a TIGA board
member I will be working to ensure that our trade association supports emerging
game developers across the UK.  Having started Remode in 2007 straight
from university, I hope to use my own industry experience to help more
independent games companies grow. I also plan to be involved with TIGA’s
education, self-publishing and mobile and online gaming activities, and to
strengthen TIGA’s links with the games industry in the South West.”

Giselle Stewart, the
General Manager of Ubisoft Reflections. She is also chair of TIGA's HR Panel
due to her substantial experience in the industry which includes overseeing the
critically acclaimed Driver: San
Francisco.
Giselle Stewart said:

“I am delighted to
join the TIGA Board.  Having worked with
TIGA for many years I know that TIGA has commercially advanced our industry
with its successful Games Tax Relief campaign and through the provision of high
quality information about salaries in the games industry. As a member of the
TIGA Board I hope to continue to strengthen TIGA’s links with education
providers to ensure that our industry continues to have world beating
development teams. TIGA continues to make a crucial difference to the UK games
industry and I look forward to being part of this first class movement.”

Nick Brown is CEO of Boss Level, a studio
that creates multiplayer, multiplatform games built around HTML5.
Nick Brown said:

“I am absolutely thrilled to be joining the board of TIGA with
whom I have had an excellent relationship ever since I first entered this
industry.  As a founder of a digital gaming start-up navigating the new
paradigm that is the ‘freemium’ model, I’m really looking forward to providing
input on how TIGA can continue to provide the excellent service which it has
provided to myself and other small businesses.

Publishing free guides for
members and organising conferences around new sectors such as social gaming and
digital distribution are excellent examples of where TIGA has already taken
active steps to aid those like myself, and I am extremely pleased to add my
voice to the growing TIGA chorus.”

Oli Christie is CEO
of Neon Play. He is highly experienced, having spent the last 11 years making
Flash and Shockwave viral games – more than 200. He worked as Creative Director
of Panlogic, where he made games for clients such as the BBC and lastminute.com and he worked for
six years at InboxDMG (now called 20:20). He helped the team scoop more than 25
industry awards. Oli Christie said:

“These are exciting yet challenging
times for the UK games industry and I hope I can take my experiences of
starting a new mobile games studio and help TIGA and its members in any way
possible. It's a great honour to be voted onto the TIGA board and I look
forward to doing my bit.”

Adrian Hawkins is COO
at Kuju Entertainment Ltd and passionately
believes in the UK games industry, believing the country deserves to regain its place as a top three territory for video gaming.
Adrian Hawkins said:

“I am very proud to be joining the TIGA
board. I passionately believe in the UK games industry – we have a long,
successful heritage and a strong base of talent. I am glad to be part of a

opportunities to support their members, encourage new talent and raise public
awareness of the industry.  I want to help TIGA seize these opportunities
to the benefit of the TIGA network and the wider games industry.”
