Frontier Developments joins TIGA

By January 3, 2012 Press Releases

TIGA, the trade
association representing the UK games industry, today announced that Frontier
Developments
has joined TIGA. Frontier’s founder, David Braben, began
working in the games industry in 1982 when he wrote the seminal game
“Elite” together with Ian Bell. Subsequently, Frontier has built up a
formidable reputation as a developer of games including titles such as Frontier, RollerCoaster Tycoon 3, LostWinds,
and Kinectimals.

In addition to his
track record in game development, David Braben has played an important part in
representing the games development sector, meeting politicians and policy
makers to make the case for tax breaks for games production and for
improvements in education.

David Braben, explains the reason why Frontier Developments decided to
join TIGA:

“TIGA is a relentless campaigner on behalf of the UK video games
industry. It keeps the issues that matter to our industry on the political
agenda. Without TIGA our industry would be largely ignored by politicians.  Additionally, we need a trade association
that can help start-up and small development studios. This role is admirably
performed by TIGA. I strongly recommend TIGA membership to all UK game
developers/developer publishers.”

Dr. Richard Wilson, TIGA CEO welcomed the organisation to TIGA:

Frontier Developments is one of the most respected development studios
in the UK. David and Ian are deeply committed to the UK video games sector and
so I am delighted that Frontier has joined TIGA. We look forward to working
with Frontier Developments in the coming months.”
