Playniac is an indie interactive and games company based in London and making exciting projects on the web and new platforms such as iPhone and social networks. We work with a variety of high profile brands and clients to create great playful experiences.

The Digital Project Manager is responsible for managing a range of digital projects from web sites and iPhone games to large scale web game productions and campaigns.

Its an exciting time to join this small and growing company, with the opportunity to really create an impact with your skills and gain experience in a variety of areas, becoming a key player in the organisation and working on some high profile projects in 2010 and beyond..

• Someone with a good sense of the business and can spot new opportunities, generate new projects and identify new business revenue streams

Responsibilities

• Planning projects and managing schedules
• Defining and managing project scope
• Communication both internally and externally
• Managing risks
• Meet with clients to understand their needs and discuss solutions
• Interpreting clients brief and translating these into clearly defined deliverables including comprehensive documentation (project schedules etc).
• Constantly seek out new ways to enhance and add value to any proposed digital concepts.
• Actively participate in finalizing requirements and authoring specifications.
• Ensuring that creative and technical quality is upheld throughout the project management process.
• Manage internal and external team resources such as coders, designers, illustrators, animators, musicians, voiceover artists, etc.
• Organise and manage alpha and beta tests.
• Some involvement in day-to-day business management

ESSENTIAL

• 3+ years of experience in the field
• Significant work experience in a digital agency and/or games environment with multiple projects successfully delivered;
• Good technical knowledge – you can talk to techies as well as clients.
• Fluent in English and impeccable written and oral communication skills;
• Experience with online feature and issue tracking tools
• Use of project management tools such as Microsoft Project
• Totally familiar with Microsoft Office, i.e. Word, Excel, Powerpoint
• Experience with development methodologies such as Agile

IDEAL

• Use of WordPress to edit and maintain content

We've worked with British Gas to create Journey to Fossil Island, an ecological adventure quiz game (multi-user UK-wide competition coming in 2010) and Nickelodeon to create The Adversary and The Field of Fiery Danger for the Dreamworks movie Kung Fu Panda. Our games get huge numbers of online hits, with our BBC Battlefield Academy game earning 1/4 million plays over its launch weekend alone and now being launched on Nintendo DS, PSP and PC.
