One of the key competitive advantages of the UK game development sector is the quality of its workforce. UK game developers typically employ highly qualified, experienced and creative people. TIGA campaigns for improvements in education and skills policy to ensure that the UK education system meets the needs of game developers.
TIGA and its members also work, collectively and individually, to augment the quality of various games related education courses. TIGA also works to strengthen links between games developers and higher education, partly to ensure that industry takes full advantage of universities’ progress in research and development.
TIGA's involvement with T2G confirms the trade association’s strong interest in education and skills. TIGA already has important relationships with universities, including universities that are TIGA members: Abertay, Brighton, Derby, Goldsmiths and Portsmouth.
TIGA campaigns for higher education to be properly funded, for a greater supply of good quality graduates and builds industry-academia links through the TIGA Technology Group.
