Public consultation events on the Advanced Level Diploma in Science

The Diploma in Science is an exciting new qualification for 14-19 year olds being designed to give young people a foundation in scientific theory and the practical skills necessary to meet the global challenges of tomorrow. Developed in partnership with employers, education and key stakeholders, the Diploma will provide students with the confidence and enthusiasm to pursue careers involving science either directly through work or additional qualifications.

RDA funding for video games remains unbalanced

TIGA, the trade association representing the UK video games industry, said today that the post code lottery in support for the video games sector remains firmly in place. TIGA made the comments after new information about Regional Development Agency (RDA) funding for the video games industry was revealed by the Government in response to a parliamentary question tabled by the Conservative MP Philip Davies.

TIGA comments on tax credit for British Columbia

TIGA, the trade association representing the UK video games industry, today said that HM Treasury and politicians in all of the UK’s political parties needed to show imagination and decisiveness in their approach to the UK games industry. TIGA made the comments in response to the news that British Columbia is set to introduce a 15 to 17.5 per cent tax credit in relation to labour costs to help the local video game industry.
